Cloud Telephony

Cloud telephony, also known as cloud communication (when voice & data are combined) or sometimes referred to as cloud calling, is a type of telephone service that uses the internet to make or receive calls.

It is a relatively new concept introduced with the development & availability of fast and reliable internet service.

Traditional telephones use on-site or off-site (usually at a data centre) private branch exchange (PBX) to provide telephone services. However, cloud telephony uses cloud servers and the internet to make calls and receive calls. This is why the service is so affordable, easily accessible from anywhere in the world where there is a reliable access to internet regardless of your location, and often comes with free national and mobile calling plans.

With cloud telephony, you don’t need to pay the cost of installing a telephone line, and you don’t need to have a fixed desk telephone, (though you will have a phone number assigned to you). The line can be fully configured to have calls diverted to any other numbers using the provider portal, such as your mobile or home number. This way, you will not miss important business calls or opportunities.
